Hi, I'm I long time lurker, and am hoping someone could help me with a translation. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Moldova several years ago but unfortunately have lost a lot of my skills in Romanian. My old host mother's grandaugther sent me a letter recently and I was hoping for help translating a few sentences.

Here's the sentences:

Ti-am scris im limba engleza deoarece vreau sa o deprind mai bine si so o invat mai bine, pentru ca mi v-a folosi mai departe, stui ca s-au strecutat greseli dar prinicipal e aui reusit sa-ti scrii.

I have the basic gist of it, but would appreciate a better understanding of what she wrote. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! (P.S. sorry I can't punctuate the works properly, I don't have those symbols available in this computer!)

I wrote you in English because I want to get more familiar with it and learn it better, because it will be useful for me in the future. I know some errors have slipped in, but the important thing is that I have managed to write you.

(there must be an error in transcription (e aui reusit, that probably was ca am reusit?)

Lol. I could not figure out if you wanted a correction of the romanian... there are a lot of errors in the romanian sentences lol... but perhaps there are moldavian dialect differences? (I'm Romanian, and I've never been to Moldova).

But yes, the translation from dadi above into english is what i would also say as well.

I wouldn't know. I had some difficulty reading how the words were spelled because handwriting is so different (though beautiful) in Moldova. And yes, it is a different country, so I did run into dialectal differences when compared to the "pure" Romanian that I learned while in training.

Thank you for your input.
